Hey guys!
Hey folks! Look around you, the site is a totally different beast! As promised/threatened, the clunking .pdf files are a thing of the past, exchanged for a much handier one-page-at-a-time viewing system thingy! This version of the site represents a considerable update of the mechanics, from ComicPress 2.1 all the way up to 2.9. The newest ComicPress is truly glorious, lemme tell ya. A super special thanks to Frumph for all his help in making the leap, that guy is a seriously groovy dood.
Anyway, the site should be at like 95% functionality right now, I’m still picking through some stuff in the guts of the site. If you find anything broken about the site, please do leave a comment somewhere or shoot me a message directly. Other than that, enjoy the new site, tell your friends, and come back soon(ish) to see the newest chapter of the comic!
O glorious day!
EDIT: OH! I almost forgot, if you are Blaise and only Blaise you’ll be interested to learn I’ve adopted a more lenient Creative Commons license. I’ve moved from BY-NC-ND to BY-NC-SA, which basically means I now allow derivative works as long as they’re shared alike. This probably means nothing to you! But it is sort of exciting to some people!
So, April 1st 2010 marks two years of The Fantastical Adventures of Caspian the Sea-Devil.
And after 24 months, at a proposed publishing rate of 1 chapter per month, I have now successfully published 10 chapters.
So yeah! Either I am terrible at math or I have terrible working habits. Or, both! Basically the most important thing I have learned during this whole self-inflicted learning process, is that comics are hard, and take lots of hard work. Still! It’s a very rewarding process and I think I’m actually making progress in the realm of becoming less terrible.
So! Thanks for reading so far I guess, and please continue to support this fool’s errand as it slowly kills me.
Chapter 11 is due on April 15th.
(Also! For more and better information don’t forget to maybe try out the Facebook and Twitter pages, and you can try out the RSS feed if you’re into that. Links to the right.)
So apparently some spambots decided that since so many of the people who read my comic have problems with their junk, this would be the ideal place for them to offer to hook people up with junk pills on the cheap. I don’t know, they’re robots, they don’t really “get” genitalia. Anyway, my point really is that I’ve modified how comments work slightly in an attempt to discourage the seedy transaction of penis medicine by robots from happening on my website. I’m pretty sure now you need to input your name and email address, which before should have been optional. While I’m at it, I might as well encourage people to use the comments system. You guys! You should totally use it, it is cool. I’m planning on getting avatar support all up in this and everything. So to recap: robots are bad, and use the comments system if you want. Alright, I’m out.
Well, I say friends, but really. The Meek and Para-Ten are two comics I have recently discovered, and both are, like myself, fairly new to the scene. I highly suggest checking them out, they are both wonderful examples of artwork and writing. Check them out in the sidebar to the right, here. Also, if you haven’t checked out the guys already on there, what on earth are you waiting for?
Hello folks, and if you’re just getting here, welcome to the Fantastical Adventures of Caspian the Sea-Devil. You may notice that the earliest newspost here, just down there, is dated April 1, 2008. Well, that’s because until today, for whatever reason, I largely kept the operation to myself, and a few VIPs. But as of today, there’s a bit of meat to the archives, the site looks almost professional, and now the doors are finally open. So have a read, leave a comment if you like, and try to enjoy yourself.
I intend to keep the site updated with a new chapter of the story every month, on or around the 15th whenever possible. So prefaced, if you really want to keep on top of things, I recommend subscribing to the RSS feed, becoming a fan on Facebook, or following me on Twitter, since I’ll be updating more than just the comic over the months, and since I may occasionally post a comic a few days early or late. You can do all that stuff by following the appropriate links in the sidebar there.
So! I hope you guys enjoy the comic so far, and are interested enough to return over the countless decades it’s going to take me to labour through to the end of this story. Oh, and if I start slacking off, do me the favour of nagging me about it. I’ll never get anything done otherwise.
So, go take a look around! And thanks for reading.
